Sogni di Cristallo is a Venetian company specializing in artistic glass lighting and home décor pieces, crafted in the tradition of Venetian glassmaking. Its collections range from classic Venetian chandeliers to more contemporary designs, combining craftsmanship, aesthetic research, and Made in Italy quality. Each piece draws on the expertise of master glassmakers and hand-worked glass, reinterpreting a centuries-old tradition through contemporary shapes, colors, and lighting solutions. Beyond selling its collections online, Sogni di Cristallo also creates lighting and glasswork for contract and architectural projects, bringing Venetian craftsmanship to international projects and spaces.
What did I do
Complete refactoring and migration of the Sogni di Cristallo e-commerce store from Gemini Commerce (GoGemini) to Shopify, a project carried out in collaboration with Rebula, working closely with Davide Martignon on development. The project included migrating the entire product catalog from GoGemini to Shopify. This required analyzing, cleaning, and reworking the data from the previous platform, preparing new structured files to correctly handle the bulk import of products into Shopify, including their related information, variants, and attributes. I also handled the setup of the new e-commerce infrastructure on Shopify, including Markets, international markets, shipping, and related settings, as well as developing custom Shopify sections and blocks to meet the project's specific needs. The work also included integrating and configuring several external services, including Klaviyo for email marketing and automation, and eKomi for review management, along with other integrations required by the e-commerce ecosystem. Overall, the project covered both the data migration and transformation side and the Shopify development and configuration side, with the goal of rebuilding the e-commerce store on the new platform while preserving existing data and introducing a more modern, flexible, and easily manageable structure.
